florida gatherings

we spent a few days on the beach in florida – and “COMING SOON” – florida inspired gatherings. but – don’t expect pretty perfect shells on these “ladder journals” these gatherings will have shells and “beach treasures” with personality!

my family box

i created this “family box” to represent my family. the picture in the back is of my parents and the ten babies… well, there are TEN kids in our family. my dad was an electrician — so i attached the babies with colored wire. i have since added a page from an old health book along the edges. i found the “mom and dad” at an antique store in marshalltown and have been WAITING to be inspired how to use them. i thought this “family box” turned out silly… and fun…. but, what do you expect with TEN kids?

the babies were new and shiny — so i “roughed them up” with sandpaper and painted six of them pink and four of them blue… then i sanded them again and added some stain so they would match the “old feel” of the photograph and the “mom and dad” figures.

dark chocolate

i made ”the ladies - revealed” for my husband for his birthday. it is titled: DARK CHOCOLATE – (of course)

and i made him a “family box” – the picture on the back is of his parents and the little plastic “babies” represent the 3 brothers — i found the little army men and marbles at the antique stores in uptown marion. i love shopping uptown marion for treasures that i use later in my “creations”.

two red ladies

i finished these two “the ladies revealed” over the weekend. you also get a little peek at my studio table….. these two “ladies in red” are FOR SALE $40.00 each. i am taking them to the chocolate shop in marion later this week.

#14 “a dream come true” (i did the cuttings on my son’s 25th birthday) and #15 “by the fireplace” (this one has some orange blended in with the red)

i had time to work in my studio yesterday because i was on “sick grandson babysitting duty”. SO – here are “the ladies revealed” FOR SALE each $40.00

# 16 “balance is necessary” #17 “factor for attracting” #18 “you may start to wonder”. i am taking these three ladies over to the marion chocolate shop later this week. i like how SWEET they look – all distressed white and pink. i’m wearing a pink shirt today – so it seems extra nice.
